Hello, thank you for taking the time to visit my blog! My name is Emily Lezpona and I am currently 27 years old. I've lived in Western Wisconsin my entire life (with the exception of my time studying abroad in Wellington, New Zealand) and went to the same school district growing up. My life always has and always will involve my family, friends, horses, animals, traveling, the outdoors, and my faith. Since going to college, I've learned that I truly had an exceptional childhood filled with love, support, encouragement, and adventure. What more could a girl really ask for? I have two amazing parents, Fred and Patti, and a younger brother, Jacob, whom I adore. My life also includes some furry creatures: Vogue, a horse that I have owned for 11 years. I also have six cats of my own: Baloo (a farm cat), Tucker, Zed, Onyx, Leo, and Max. Yes, I know, I am a cat lady. I gain inspiration from my family, friends, and animals.

When I graduated high school in 2007, I began my college pursuits at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls with an Animal Science, Equine Emphasis major. While attending River Falls, I also pursued Journalism and Agricultural Education. Despite my passion for horses, writing, agriculture, and education, none of them clicked the way I had hoped a major would. During my time at UW-River Falls, I spent June 2008 to June 2009 serving as a Wisconsin State FFA Officer. It was a rewarding experience that taught me a lot about professional networking, connecting with people of all ages, and making lasting impacts. In December 2009, I chose to transfer to the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse to pursue a B.S. in Psychology and a minor in Interpersonal Communication. During my three years at UW-La Crosse I served as a Teaching Assistant, had an internship at the YMCA Teen Center, studied abroad in Wellington, New Zealand, and assisted the Study Abroad Office as a Peer Mentor for a year. I graduated with honors in May 2013, and it is one of my proudest accomplishments to date. Transferring schools will always be one of the best decisions I could have made for myself. I thoroughly enjoyed my major and minor and truly developed a passion for learning. I now aspire to be a lifelong learner in any and all areas of my life.

One thing you should know is that I keep this blog for fun. It is my way of exploring various topics and life lessons that I encounter with one of my biggest passions--writing. It is also a personal reflection of my life and who I am as well as a way for family and friends to know what is constantly going on inside that brain of mine. Lately, I have been using it as a way to explore goals and for people to know what I've been up to. Thanks for reading and I encourage comments on the things that I write.
Here's a quick fact list about me:
1. I have many passions, but the ones that top the list are horses, animals, traveling, and writing.
2. I hope to adopt many animals throughout my life.
3. I strive for continuous improvement in my daily life.
4. I have a strong faith and relationship with God.
5. Every day I begin with the mentality that "this is the first day of the rest of my life" and end each day by counting my blessings.
